Bad breath can be embarassing

How can I tell if I have bad breath?

Lots of small signs can show that you have bad breath. Have you noticed people stepping away from you when you start to talk? Do people turn their cheek when you kiss them goodbye?

If you think you might have bad breath, there is a simple test that you can do. Just lick the inside of your wrist and sniff - if the smell is bad, you can be fairly sure that your breath is too.

Or, ask a very good friend to be absolutely honest with you; but do make sure they are a true friend.

Sugar Tax is here but a regular visit to your NHS Dentist is still important

The Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP(UK)) has welcomed the new sugar tax as a ‘game-changer’ for oral health, and says the latest data on childhood tooth extractions highlight its necessity.

The Faculty was among the organisations which campaigned for the Soft Drinks Industry Levy, which came into force early April and taxes manufacturers 18 pence per litre for drinks with total sugar content above five grams per 100ml, and 24 pence per litre for those above eight grams per 100ml.

There is no catchment area for our NHS Dentist in Liverpool

Everyone should be able to access good-quality NHS dental services.

There is no need to register with a dentist in the same way as with a GP because you are not bound to a catchment area.

Simply find a dental practice that's convenient for you, whether it's near your home or work, and phone them to see if there are any appointments available.

If you do not have a regular dental practice or are new to the area, you can search for an NHS dentist near you.

Just three in ten children with toothache are taken to the dentist

Thousands of children with tooth pain are being taken by parents to pharmacies and A&E, instead of their dentist, a new study has found.

Researchers at Queen Mary University of London said children’s teeth are being ‘put at risk’ by parents taking them to the wrong place for help to relieve symptoms, when the cause of tooth pain requires investigation.
