The CQC says "People should get safe and appropriate care that meets their needs and supports their rights." Following their visit to our dentist in Liverpool this is what they said: "People's care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that ensured their safety and welfare. We saw that detailed information had been recorded about patient consultations and examinations they had received. The records set out the condition of the persons teeth on examination and any problems that had been identified. They also set out details about the treatment that was required at the time of their visit and plans for ongoing treatment proposed by the dentist.
When only the best of care will do
We observed reception staff obtaining information from people at the point of booking in, this included obtaining a full medical history for people who were new to the practice and obtaining updates to medical histories of people who were already registered .
We were told that information leaflets had been handed out to people about the care they should take before and following certain treatments such as extractions and crowns.
