At the moment our Liverpool Dentist is not affected by the introduction of the Universal Credit. From April 2013 the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) is introducing a new benefit called Universal Credit. Universal Credit aims to simplify the benefit system by bringing together the current working-age benefits for those in and out of work into a single payment system. For more information visit the DWP website.
Your Liverpool Dentist and Universal Credit
Universal Credit will initially be introduced in pathfinder areas: Oldham, Tameside, Warrington and Wigan. Residents in the pathfinder areas will not be limited to using services in these areas, for example, you could visit a dentist outside of the pathfinder area and your NHS treatment would still be free. The Department of Health will issue further guidance about future entitlement to help with health costs in due course.
Everyone else not receiving Universal Credit can claim help with health costs according to the current arrangements.
